Google has added a speedup word to its
line of “Go” edition apps – the lightweight apps are been designed for the competative app markets – with the launch of Gmail Go.
The app, like others in the Go line of market, takes up less storage space on
the users smartphones and makes better and less use of mobile data compared to its own
regular version of Gmail.
The app also offers the regular standard Gmail features like multiple account
supports, conversation view, attachments, and push notifications for new
messages. That it already had on in regular 'Gmail' version It also saves messages according to the arrangement from friends and family first,
while it has additional category of promotional and social emails in separate tabs, as
Gmail normally does.'Gmail Go' is available to download on Android Go devices from Google Play. Last year, Google said Android Go will ship in 2018 for all Android devices that have 1GB or less of memory. Android Go is packaged as an OS, apps and Google Play -- shipped together with 1 GB or less of memory.
But like other markets Go apps, Gmail Go doesn’t consume as much storage spaceas well data consumption on the device.
In fact, according to various reports, Gmail Go is managed at a 9.51 MB download, and takes up roughly arround 25 MB of space on a device, compared with Gmail’s 20.66 MB download, and 47 MB storage space.
Gmail Go will still allow you to have support for multiple accounts, automatically filter social and promotional emails while prioritizing emails from friends and family, receive new mail notifications, have access to 15GB free storage, and read and respond both online and offline. However, other nonessential features may be missing (images won’t load automatically, for example) so that it can use less ROM and RAM.
Preinstalled on Android Go devices, optimized apps include Google Go, Google Assistant Go, YouTube Go, Google Maps Go, Gmail Go, Gboard, Google Play, Chrome, and the new Files Go app by Google.
